A typical day - 2007-07-05
You may notice there are a few changes with this website - and still loads more in the pipeline. As I type this my laptop is churning through the test data to include all of the products all our suppliers sell and process them into a nice easy to use format in the database. One thing a lot of people do not realise is the sheer amount of work which goes into creating a website like this, and I thought id write a blog about all of this work. Dont worry we will soon be posting about our suppliers, their special offers as well as many other snippets of information about them, but a glimpse of a typical day in the life of myself. 06:30-07:00: Get Up 07:15 Leave the house for the day job 07:50 Wait for someone to arrive at the office with a key 08:05 Guys start arriving - get in office make the first Coffee of the day 08:10-08:30 Check emails, Data collected about the site, Check for new suppliers 08:30-11:00 Work at the day job as a SEO Programmer 11:00-11:15 Keep an eye on the statistics - get another Coffee 11:15-12:30 Back at it for work 12:30-13:30 Normally add in a few new suppliers - have something to eat and more coffee, nip out to the shops for some food 13:30-15:30 Back to work again 15:30-15:45 quick check the sites going properly - make any notes of changes which should be done that night - Get another Coffee 15:45-17:30 final stint of paid labour for the day 17:30-18:30 Drive back home - Yet more coffee 18:30-01:45 Work on improving the codebase for click-discount - with Jen regularly brewing up (thanks hunny) As you can see im working quite a bit - the weekends are normally spent working on our house, drinking beer (coffee detox), catching up on a little bit of sleep (lie in till 10am - bliss!) and doing standard household chores. Albeit ill normally work on the site 5pm till around 2-3am in the morning we are both dedicated to this website - wanting to provide you with all the best offers - but we need to be found - if you have a website and want to link to us - please feel free to do so
